Many years ago, I was driving on I-25 towards New Mexico and suddenly ran out of gas. It surprised me because, although I knew my tank was not full, I ran out of gas sooner than I expected, which left me on the side of the road needing assistance. Sad to say, it was not the only time that had happened. Not fun!
For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water. Jeremiah 2:13
This is what will happen to many in the Body of Christ in the coming days as we draw nearer to the coming of the Lord. Things will seem to continue as usual, but then suddenly there will be a demand placed upon all of us that we have not experienced to that degree.
The world’s climate will require us to be filled with God’s Spirit at all times as we will not be capable of standing in our own strength and wisdom. Like never before, we will need the power of the Holy Spirit in the coming days.
Begin to seek now to be filled with the Spirit continually. Ask Him to keep reminding you throughout the day. When we become believers in Christ, our bodies become the Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 3:16) but being filled with the Holy Spirit requires our intentional surrender and cooperation with Him. Although He is All Powerful, He is also gentle and will never force Himself upon anyone.
Begin to develop a relationship with the Holy Spirit. He is your Friend and Helper and wants to have close fellowship with you. He desires to teach you about what Christ has done for you and how you can abide in Him through faith.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14
More on being temples of the Holy Spirit, in our next blog. Until then, may God our Heavenly Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ increase your awareness and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
